A Brief History of the Mu Chi Lambda Chapter

The Mu Chi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc is a non-profit organization founded on December 4th, 1977 in the Quad Cities by eight distinguish men:

· Victor Davis · John Dockery 
· Chuck Evans · Claude Evans 
· Chuck Mathis · Robert Ship 

These men strongly believe and committed to the fraternal motto:

 “First of all, Servant of all, We shall transcend all”. 

Living up to our dearest fraternal motto, this chapter has committed itself to the progress of the Quad City communities. Mu Chi Lambda Chapter objective is to promote, stimulate, encourage youth and directly assist programs to uplift and develop citizens in the Quad City communities. 

With consistent to the chapter objective, Mu Chi Lambda Chapter actively supports: Father & Son Breakfast, Engineering Orientation for High School Senior, Dr. Martin Luther King Center Day Activities, Rock Island Arsenal Ethnic Food Fest, Voter Registration Drive, Quad City Youth Against Drug Rally, and provide scholarship funds to support vocational, undergraduate & graduate students on non-fraternity members and tutoring program. 

It is the chapter belief that the future of any people in “The American Dream” depends highly on quality education. Based on this concern, Mu Chi Lambda Chapter has established a college scholarship fund that has been used to assist several local students in acquiring post-high school education.
